Meet Larissa | Compassionate Birth & Postnatal Doula Support

Hi, I’m Larri, a trained doula offering wholehearted, personalised support through pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period.
People often tell me that I bring a sense of calm into a space. That I’m steady, perceptive, and quietly reassuring. Birth isn’t the time for filling silences or navigating awkward conversations, and my strength lies in being able to read the room, understand what’s needed, and respond without you having to explain yourself.
Before training as a doula, I worked in corporate environments, beginning in office management and later moving into IT consultancy. My role often sat between the client and the business, balancing expectations, navigating systems, and keeping communication clear when things felt complex or pressured. Those skills translate directly into my work as a doula.
I'm comfortable working within the maternity system, asking clear and sometimes difficult questions, and supporting you to feel confident and informed while multiple priorities are in play.
I understand how easy it is to feel processed or overlooked within large systems, and how important it is to feel like a person rather than a case. When I became a parent myself, I recognised how those experiences can follow us into pregnancy and birth. I wanted to feel prepared, to understand my options, and to protect my space during a time that is both deeply personal and life-changing.
That understanding shapes how I can make you feel during your pregnancy now.
I work across all types of births and circumstances, including homebirths, planned and unplanned caesareans, inductions, and more complex pregnancies. My support is impartial, evidence-informed, and grounded in real-world experience. I’m not attached to a particular outcome or approach. My focus is on helping you feel supported, respected, and able to navigate your birth in a way that feels right for you.
You may have already seen many different healthcare professionals, but continuity of care is central to my work. Supporting families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period, building relationships over time so you don’t have to keep repeating your story or advocating alone. Throughout this time, I learn what matters to you, what helps you feel calm, and where you may need extra reassurance, and carry that understanding with you through each stage.
My role is to offer consistent, emotionally intelligent support during this transition, someone who understands both the system you’re moving through and the personal experience you’re having within it.
Alongside my core doula training, I’ve completed additional training in areas that support the way I work, including paediatric first aid, biomechanics for pregnancy and birth, hypnobirthing, and complementary approaches for birth and the postnatal period. Each of these adds depth to my practice and allows me to offer support that is responsive, thoughtful, and grounded.
Outside of my work, I’m a mum to two boys. I love live music and being at gigs, and I feel most at peace in or near the sea. Water is where I slow down, reset, and find perspective, and that grounded presence is something I naturally bring into my support for others.
If you’re looking for a doula who is practical, perceptive, and firmly in your corner, you’re welcome to get in touch below so we can talk about whether working together feels like the right fit.
